Anne Militello

Lighting designer for theater, opera, concert tours, architecture and theme parks. Her theater work encompasses Broadway, off and Off-Broadway, most notably with Sam Shepard and Maria Irene Fornes for which she received the OBIE for Sustained Excellence. Regional theater includes McCarter Theater, Long Wharf, Mark Taper Forum and others. Opera includes Canadian Opera, Seattle Opera, Portland Opera, Los Angeles Opera, and others. Concert tours for Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Neil Young, kd lang, Robert Plant and others. Formerly a Walt Disney Imagineer, she later designed The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man for Universal Studios and received Themed Lighting Designer of the Year from LDI. Her artistic architectural designs include the moving light fa├žade for the New 42nd St Studios for which she received the Paul Waterbury Award of Distinction the IESNA. She is the founder of Vortex Lighting in Los Angeles and is the Head of Lighting At California Institute of the Arts.
